Describe your qualifications and experience for this office and explain your reasons for running. How would you be an asset?
Crist: I have been involved in education for over 27 years, both at the secondary level and higher education. Because of
my background and business experience, this gives me the necessary qualifications. My bachelor’s degree is in business and accounting. I worked for
Consumers Energy in the audit, accounting and pension departments. I was President & CEO of CP Federal Credit Union for 19 years. During this time at CP
Federal Credit Union I established a financial literacy program for students in elementary through junior high. As a result of my training and work
experience, I bring a financial and leadership role to the Board of Trustees of Jackson College. Also, I have been involved in the community by serving on
various boards, as listed: Chair/Board of the Michigan Community College Association, Western School District Board, Chair-United Way Campaign, Chair-United Way Board, Chair-Chamber of Commerce, Chair-Jackson College Board, Hospice Board of Directors.
