All nine Class of 2025 players, who committed to play for former North Carolina head coach Mack Brown, have re-committed to play for Belichick.

Austin Alexander, a four-star defensive lineman, was the final of the nine to announce his decision to honor his commitment to North Carolina, doing so

on Tuesday, Dec. 17. He was the second-highest Class of 2025 signee behind incoming quarterback Bryce Baker, according to rankings by 247Sports.

Alexander and Baker could cement the North Carolina offense and defense for years to come. Jacolby Criswell started the majority of the season at quarterback for North Carolina this season and he has one year of eligibility remaining, so there could be a quarterback battle entering spring practice and Belichick’s first year at North Carolina.

North Carolina has already made some additions from the transfer portal, including offensive lineman Christo Kelly from Holy Cross and tight end Connor Cox from South Carolina. Belichick coached some elite tight ends with the Patriots, so Cox could have the chance to play a key role right away for the 2025 North Carolina Tar Heels football team.
