Patti Smith Announces ‘Horses’ 50th Anniversary Tour

Patti Smith, the iconic singer-songwriter and poet, has unveiled plans to celebrate the 50th anniversary of her groundbreaking debut album, Horses. The tour will feature Smith performing the album in its entirety for the first time since 2005, accompanied by original band members guitarist Lenny Kaye and drummer Jay Dee Daugherty. The European leg includes performances in Dublin, Madrid, Bergamo, Brussels, Oslo, Paris, and London on October 12 and 13. The U.S. tour will visit Seattle, Oakland, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, Boston, Washington DC, and Philadelphia in November.

In addition to the tour, a tribute concert is scheduled at New York’s Carnegie Hall on March 26, featuring artists such as Michael Stipe, Karen O, Kim Gordon, and others. Tickets for the tour are available through various platforms, including Vivid Seats.

Health Update Following Onstage Incident

Recently, Smith experienced a health scare during a performance in São Paulo, Brazil, where she collapsed on stage due to post-migraine dizziness. She was taken off stage in a wheelchair but later returned to perform. Smith addressed the incident on social media, reassuring fans that she is fine and emphasizing that the situation had been exaggerated by the media.

Upcoming Performances

Despite the recent health incident, Smith remains committed to her musical engagements. The tribute concert at Carnegie Hall on March 26 will feature performances by notable artists, and the ‘Horses’ 50th Anniversary Tour is set to commence in the fall, with dates across Europe, the U.K., and North America.
