**Done Deal: Oklahoma Sooners Softball Announces Blockbuster Signing of Star Utility Player Kaydee Bennett**
In a major boost to their championship ambitions, the Oklahoma Sooners softball program has officially
announced the signing of standout utility player **Kaydee Bennett** in what is
being called a blockbuster acquisition for the future of the team.
Bennett, a former Texas A&M-Commerce standout, brings elite athleticism, versatility, and proven leadership to an
already stacked Sooners roster. Known for her speed, sharp instincts, and game-
changing defense, Bennett is expected to make an immediate impact as Oklahoma
continues its transition into the Southeastern Conference (SEC).
### A Game-Changing Addition
Head Coach **Patty Gasso**, now in her 31st season at the helm, expressed her excitement about Bennett’s arrival:
“Kaydee is the kind of player that embodies everything we value here at
Oklahoma — toughness, energy, and the ability to impact the game in every
phase. We’re thrilled to welcome her into the program.”
The terms of the deal, though not officially disclosed due to NCAA policies,
have been referred to as one of the most impactful signings in recent memory for
the Sooners, reflecting Bennett’s high recruiting value. She had previously
drawn interest from powerhouse programs such as Texas, Alabama,
Kentucky, and Tennessee before choosing Oklahoma.
### Bennett’s Impressive Resume
Bennett made waves at Texas A&M-Commerce with her exceptional range as a defender and her dynamic bat. She was
widely regarded as one of the top utility players in the country, capable of
excelling at shortstop, second base, or even in the outfield. Her speed on the
bases and ability to ignite rallies made her a nightmare for opposing pitchers.
With Oklahoma, Bennett is expected to slot into a key defensive role while
contributing offensively in a lineup already
stacked with power hitters and contact specialists.
### Setting the Tone for the Future
The Sooners, who boast a 35–3 record in their first SEC season, are widely
considered national championship contenders. The signing of Kaydee
Bennett only reinforces that status, giving them another elite weapon to
deploy down the stretch and into the 2026 season.
Bennett, speaking after the announcement, said:
“It’s an honor to join a program with such a rich history and a winning
culture. I’m ready to get to work and
contribute in any way I can. I chose Oklahoma because I wanted to compete
at the highest level — and this is the place to do that.”
With this signing, Oklahoma continues to
send a strong message to the rest of
college softball: the dynasty is not only alive — it’s getting stronger.
