BREAKING: Despite setbacks in Week 1, calls for the dismissal of college football coaches remain strong….

Sport news

The Florida State Seminoles are in danger of ending their season at 0-2 after a poor showing in Week 0 against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. The Seminoles, led by Mike Norvell, started the 2024–25 college football season ranked as the 10th best team in the nation.

Fans had high expectations going into Norvell’s fifth season with the team, but after losing 24-21 to the Yellow Jackets in Week 0 and trailing 14-6 at the half to the Boston College Eagles in Week 1, they are demanding that Norvell be fired. There are others who think Norvell shouldn’t even be let to finish the game against BC, and many who predict Florida State might fire him before the season concludes. One fan said, “They going fire Mike Norvell,” using laughing emojis.

Another supporter declared, “I would fire Mike Norvell at halftime.” “This is some of the worst football the world has ever seen.”

Another fan joked, “If Florida State loses tonight, they might fire Mike Norvell.”

“Jordan travis made mike norvell and jared verse made Adam fuller,” stated one enthusiast. “Fire them both.”
“Maybe Venables can bring Mike Norvell to OU as an analyst after FSU fires him,” remarked one fan.

Another supporter yelled, “FSU PLEASE FIRE MIKE NORVELL & BENCH DJ U.”

Since 2020, Mike Norvell has been a member of the Seminoles. He started his career in Tallahassee during COVID season in college football.

Norvell finished with a 3-6 record in his debut season at FSU. With the Seminoles, the former Memphis Tigers coach has gotten better each year. They had three successful seasons: 5-7 in 2021, 10-3 in 2022, and 13-1 in 2023.

After winning the ACC title and going undefeated in the regular season, the Seminoles were in position to qualify for the College Football Playoff in 2023. They lost to the Georgia Bulldogs in the Orange Bowl to end the 2023 campaign. Following losses in their previous two games—a bowl game in 2023 and a Week 0 loss in 2024—Florida State faced BC.

The path ahead for Florida State in the ACC doesn’t get any simpler. They are ahead of a few ranking opponents. The No. 14 Clemson Tigers, the No. 19 Miami Hurricanes, and an underappreciated Duke Blue Devils team are all on the Seminoles’ demanding October schedule.
They’ll face the No. 7 Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Florida Gators in their final two games of the season, two tougher opponents after their hectic October schedule.
