Lloyd will be placed on injured reserve, the Packers confirmed on Tuesday. To replace him, they have added practice squad member Chris Brooks, a running back, to their roster.
Report: According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Lloyd hurt his ankle against the Colts.
Lloyd has sustained three injuries since the Packers selected him in the draft. He had missed some time in training camp because of a hip issue prior to spraining his hamstring.
Lloyd has been listed as a possible return by the Packers, but his placement on injured reserve will force him to miss at least four games.
Last season, Chris Brooks played in nine games for the Miami Dolphins, gaining 106 yards on 19 carries. On August 27, this year, the team released him after reaching an injury settlement.
When Lloyd is able to play a full-time role on the field, he is anticipated to play a significant role in Green Bay’s attack. At the position, he brings a whole different skill set that has the potential to elevate Green Bay’s rushing offense. His college stats are as follows:
