USA Volleyball Announces 2025 Tournament Roster as Preparations Begin
The USA Volleyball Federation has officially announced its roster for the highly anticipated 2025 tournament season. With a mix of seasoned veterans and promising newcomers, Team USA aims to maintain its dominance on the global stage as it prepares for key events, including the FIVB Volleyball Nations League, Pan American Games, and the road to the 2025 World Championships.
A Star-Studded Lineup
Leading the men’s team is captain and outside hitter Matt Anderson, returning for his 14th season with Team USA. Anderson’s leadership and offensive prowess remain pivotal as the team looks to build on its success from previous years. Joining him are setter Micah Christenson, middle blocker Max Holt, and opposite hitter Kyle Ensing, all of whom have played significant roles in recent victories.
Newcomers to the roster include standout college players like Luke Benson, a high-flying outside hitter from UCLA, and middle blocker Ethan Warner from Stanford, who has impressed with his blocking and quick attacks. Head coach John Speraw emphasized the importance of blending experience with fresh talent, stating, “This year’s roster reflects a commitment to both consistency and innovation. We’ve brought in some exceptional young players who will push our veterans and strengthen our depth.”
On the women’s side, Jordan Larson headlines the roster, returning after her celebrated Olympic performance and a brief hiatus. The team also includes Kelsey Robinson, Haleigh Washington, and libero Justine Wong-Orantes, all key contributors to Team USA’s gold-medal runs in recent tournaments. Rising stars such as middle blocker Rylee Gray and setter Ashley Thompson add energy and versatility to the squad.
Preparation Underway
Training camps are set to begin in January at the USA Volleyball Training Center in Anaheim, California. The camps will focus on refining technical skills, improving team chemistry, and adapting to evolving strategies in international play. Both teams will also participate in friendly matches against top-ranked nations like Brazil, Italy, and Japan to prepare for the season’s challenges.
Season Highlights
The men’s team will kick off their season at the FIVB Volleyball Nations League in May, followed by the Pan American Cup in July. Meanwhile, the women’s team will debut at the Continental Championships in March before competing in the Nations League. Both squads are laser-focused on the 2025 World Championships, set to take place in Poland and the Netherlands later in the year.
Aiming for Excellence
USA Volleyball Federation President Jamie Davis expressed confidence in the teams, saying, “With this roster, we are poised to excel at every level of competition. The blend of veteran leadership and young talent ensures that we remain a powerhouse in the volleyball world.”
As the 2025 season approaches, fans are eagerly awaiting to see if Team USA can continue its legacy of excellence and inspire a new generation of volleyball enthusiasts.
